What is HNS for Counter-Strike 1.6 Servers
In Counter-Strike 1.6, "Hide and Seek" (HNS) mode is a custom game mode that differs from the bomb defusal or hostage rescue game scenario. In HNS, players are divided into two teams: Hiders and Seekers.
Hiders are the Players who hide and try to avoid to be spotted and eliminated. Seekers are the Players who actively search for and eliminate the Hiders. The goal for the Hiders is to find a suitable hiding spot and stay hidden until the end of the round, while the Seekers aim to locate and eliminate the Hiders.
The round begins with all players in their spawn areas. Hiders are given a specific amount of time to find and settle into hiding spots. Seekers are usually frozen or restricted from moving during the hiding phase. As soon as the hiding phase ends, Seekers are released, and they must search for the Hiders. Seekers use weapons to tag or eliminate Hiders but that really depends on the server cvars. Hiders win the round if at least one Hider survives until the end of the round. Seekers win the round if they successfully eliminate all Hiders before the round is over. The game is usually played multiple rounds, and the players switch roles in each round. Hide and Seek mode in Counter-Strike 1.6 is played on custom maps designed with a lot of hiding spots and challenges.
